Producer/Director Takes Us Behind the Scenes of the JASON Project

Meet George Cauttero, writer, producer, and director of the JASON Project, freshly back from his eighth JASON expedition.
George will be the featured presenter at the MCA-I/CT meeting on Tuesday, February 11, at Deloitte and Touche in Wilton. A long-time MCA-I member from New York, George will talk about the JASON Project and his latest adventure on this year’s expedition to California’s Channel Islands.
Founded by oceanographer and Titanic discoverer Robert Ballard, the JASON Project sponsors annual expeditions to the earth’s ecological “hotspots.” Ballard teams with scientists, teachers and students from various countries to study these sites. Satellite and Internet technologies allow students back in the classroom to follow and interact with the expedition.
JASON programs also air on National Geographic TV and CPTV. George will give us a behind-the-scenes view of a JASON production, and will describe the roles of the crew, many of whom are MCA-I members. Find out what it’s like to work on such an exciting, exotic, and educationally worthwhile venture! Join us for refreshments and networking at 6:30 p.m. A short meeting and the presentation will follow about 7 p.m.
Directions to Deloitte & Touche 10 Westport Road, Wilton, CT
From CT-15 (Merritt Parkway) from New York:
Take Exit 41. Turn right at stop sign. At the light make a right onto Route 33 N. At the fourth light make a right into our driveway.
A. Sign at entrance to driveway reads “10/20 Westport Road.” Go past 20 Westport Road entrance which is immediately on right. Then bear right at the fork and drive under the buildings to the middle. On the left you will see the glass lobby area for Deloitte & Touche. Visitor parking marked “D&T VISITOR” is available on the right.
From New Haven:
Take Exit 41. At light turn left onto Route 33 N. At the third traffic light (approximately 2.5 miles), turn right into our driveway. Follow the above steps starting from A.
From I-95 from New York:
Take Exit 15 and follow to end of connector. Turn right off connector. At the second light turn left onto Rt. 7 North. Follow Rt. 7 to the intersection of Rt. 33 and Rt. 7. Take a right onto Rt. 33 South. Take first left at next light which will bring you into our driveway. Follow the above steps starting from A. From New Haven Take Exit 17. Turn left at bottom of ramp onto Riverside Avenue (Rt. 33 North). Riverside becomes Wilton Road at the Post Road (Rt. 1). You will pass under Merritt Parkway. At the fourth traffic light (approximately 2.5 miles), turn right into our driveway. Follow the above steps starting from A.
From I-84:
Take Exit 3, Rt. 7 South. Continue on Rt. 7 (approx.15.8 miles) to Wilton where Rt. 33 South splits to the left. Stay on Rt. 33 to second traffic light. Turn left into our driveway.
